These terms are the rules of the Trading House Online Challenge. Before you join, read our Terms of Use: they apply to the Challenge and contain our legal disclaimers and the limits on our liability. By joining the Challenge or entering a prize draw, you accept these Challenge Terms and our Terms of Use. If they say different things, these Challenge Terms apply. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your information. Words defined in our Terms of Use mean the same here.
1. What the Challenge Is
The Challenge is about 21 days of live trading with Bills after the Event. A leaderboard ranks the Participants, and there are prizes. We share the schedule of the sessions in our groups.
2. Who Can Join
To join the Challenge, you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- open a trading account with our partner broker, RaiseFX, operated by Raise Global SA (Pty) Ltd in South Africa and its affiliated companies (the "Broker"), through our registration page or our partner link;
- live in a country where the Broker accepts clients and where taking part is lawful; the Broker does not accept clients who live in Afghanistan, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Burundi, the Central African Republic, Chad, China, Congo-Kinshasa, Cuba, Eritrea, India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Niger, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, the United States, Venezuela, Yemen or Zimbabwe, and this list may change; our registration page tells you before you start if your country is not eligible;
- deposit at least US$1,000 on that account and complete the Broker's identity and address checks.
You become a "Participant" once you meet all of these conditions and the Broker confirms that your account is linked to the Challenge. You can join only once, with one account. An account you already had with the Broker cannot be linked to the Challenge. If the Broker tells us you already have one, our registration page tells you right away. If you are not sure, ask us before you deposit. We may close the Challenge to a country at any time to comply with the law, a regulator or a platform.
Our staff and contractors, the staff of our service providers who work on the Challenge, the staff of the Broker, and the members of their households may join the sessions but cannot win prizes.
3. The Broker
We organise and promote the Event and the Challenge. We are not a broker: we do not hold your money, run trading accounts or execute trades, and we are not licensed by any financial regulator. The Broker is an independent company with its own terms and privacy policy, which you accept on its platform. The Broker is responsible for its platform and services, including your account, identity checks, deposits, withdrawals and any bonus. We are responsible for what we do, including the details we send the Broker and what we tell you. We work with the Broker to run the Challenge.
The Broker pays us a commission on accounts opened through us that meet its conditions. The more is deposited and traded on those accounts, the more we earn, whether your trades make or lose money.
Your deposit is your own money, in your own account with the Broker. You deposit only on the Broker's platform, never to us or to a person. Any deposit bonus is trading credit from the Broker under its terms, not cash you can withdraw. Questions about your account go to the Broker; we will help you reach them if you ask.
4. Your Details and Your Trading Data
To join, you give us the details the Broker needs to open your account, and we send them to the Broker. If you agree on the Broker's platform, the Broker then shares your account and trading activity with us so we can run the Challenge. Our Privacy Policy explains what we receive and how we use it.
We can only score you if the Broker links your account to the Challenge and keeps sending us your trading data. If it does not, for example because you asked it to stop sharing, we cannot score you or count your trades, so you can win only through free entry. Scores already published stay.
5. The Leaderboard
- Your daily score is calculated as follows. Each trade counts on the day it is fully closed (UK time), including any part closed earlier. Its result is its profit or loss after the Broker's fees, divided by your account balance when you opened it, shown as a percentage. If your balance was below US$1,000 when you opened the trade, we divide by US$1,000 instead. Your daily score is the total of those percentages for all your trades fully closed that day. Deposits, withdrawals and bonuses never count as profit. For example, a trade opened with a balance of US$1,000 and closed with a profit of US$60 counts as 6%.
- Each day we announce a daily prize. The best daily score wins it. If several Participants tie exactly for the best score, we draw the winner at random among them.
- Every Participant earns points each day according to their daily rank; we publish the points for each rank in our groups before the Challenge starts. The overall leaderboard adds up those daily points. If several Participants tie on the overall leaderboard for a final prize, we draw the winner at random among them. If you join after the Challenge starts, you earn points from the day you join.
The leaderboard is public and shows your first name (or a nickname if you ask us), country, daily score and points. We use your name or results in our ads only with your agreement, for example when you agree before going on camera. You can ask us to stop at any time.
We may correct scoring errors until a winner is confirmed. We may disqualify anyone who cheats, for example by using several accounts, coordinating trades with others to game the ranking or exploiting an error in our systems or the Broker's. We decide in good faith and tell the person why. If you think we made a mistake, write to us at [email protected]. We review it and tell you our decision, which is final as far as the law allows. This does not limit your legal rights.
6. Prizes
There are two kinds of prizes:
- Daily prizes for the best daily score.
- Final prizes at the end of the Challenge: some go to the top of the overall leaderboard, and the others are drawn at random among all Participants who closed at least 10 trades during the Challenge and all free entries (the "trade-count draw").
The final prizes are one Rolex (approximate value US$10,000) and one trip to Dubai for two people (approximate value US$6,000, or US$3,000 per person). Before the Challenge opens, we announce in our groups which final prize goes to the top of the overall leaderboard and which to the trade-count draw, and the day the Challenge ends.
Other prizes, including surprise cash prizes, can be money, goods or experiences. We announce each daily prize and each draw in our groups before it opens: what it is, its approximate value, how many there are, how to win it and when it closes. We may add prizes during the Challenge in the same way.
Free entry to draws. Anyone can enter a prize draw for free, without an account, a deposit or a trade. This does not apply to a tie-break between Participants who tie for a daily prize. Email your full name, email address and country to [email protected] with the subject "Free entry" and the name of the prize, before the closing time we announce. One entry per person per draw, however you enter; every entry has the same chance, and your chance depends on the number of entries. You must be at least 18, live in a country where the Challenge is open, and not be one of the people who cannot win prizes. Draws are made at random by computer, and we keep a record of each draw. We explain free entry in our groups and in each draw announcement.
Winners. We confirm each winner after checking that they are eligible, then contact them using the details they gave us. Winners who live in Canada must first correctly answer a skill-testing question, without help and within a time limit. If a winner does not reply within 7 days, we give the prize to the next person in the ranking or, for a prize decided by a draw, we draw again. We deliver prizes within 30 days of confirming the winner. If shipping or the Broker takes longer, we tell the winner when to expect it. A trip is taken on dates agreed with the winner.
About prizes.
- Prizes are personal and cannot be sold or transferred. There is no cash alternative unless we say so for that prize.
- Some prizes, such as a funded trading account or a deposit top-up, come from the Broker and are provided under its own terms. When we announce one, we say what, if anything, can be withdrawn as cash. If the Broker does not provide a prize we announced, we help you claim it and, if it still does not, we give you a prize of equal or greater value.
- A trip includes only what we announce for it. The winner is responsible for passports, visas and travel insurance.
- If a prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond our control, we give one of equal or greater value. If the law where you live does not allow us to give you a prize, you cannot win it.
- Any tax on a prize is the winner's responsibility, unless the law requires us to withhold it.
- For a claim about a prize, our liability is limited to the value of that prize. This limit does not apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, to fraud, or to any liability the law does not allow us to limit.
7. The Private Challenge Group
The private Challenge group is only for Participants. Your access is personal, and you may not share your invitation link. The group rules in our Terms of Use apply.
8. Changes
We may change the schedule, the format, the hosts or the instruments shown, or cancel a session, for operational, legal or regulatory reasons or for reasons beyond our control. We tell you when we do.
Once a prize is announced, we do not change it, its closing time or how it is won, unless the law, a regulator, the Broker or a platform requires it, or the prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond our control, and then only as far as needed. No change reduces a prize already won. If we have to stop the Challenge early, we award the prizes already won and give the remaining prizes based on the leaderboard and draw entries at that moment.
We may update these Challenge Terms. We tell you about important changes before they take effect. If you do not accept a change, you may leave the Challenge.
9. Leaving the Challenge
You can leave at any time by emailing [email protected]. Leaving does not close your trading account. From then on, we stop scoring you and stop using the trading activity the Broker sends about you for the Challenge. To stop the Broker sending it, withdraw your consent on the Broker's platform. After you leave, you can win only through free entry. A prize you already won stays yours, unless you won it through false information, fraud or a breach of these Challenge Terms or our Terms of Use.
